Sold Out Software

So today I purchased a far more than is sane amount of PC video games, All by the UK distributor (?) Sold Out Software, I have no real reason as to why I've purchased them except that I had a few games from them as a kid that I got for a fiver from Maplin before they turned to shit and finally went the way of the Dodo.

The first games I remember getting from Maplin was Three Kingdoms: Fate of the Dragon, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 & Colin McRae Rally 2.o (I loved it on PlayStation), all of which I would consider pretty damn good games.

Incase you forgot what the front covers typically looked like.

I think I'm gonna see if I can get a full Sold Out Software collection, I'm not even sure how many titles they released as of writing this but I cant imagine it being beyond a few hundred.

I've done some rudimentary research to see what I could find in regards to the games that was released by Sold Out Software but there seemed to be surprisingly little information beyond eBay / Amazon listings, an unverified list on GameFAQs and other user created entries on random video game related wiki's
oh and Disogs 🤷‍♂️

Barcodes

I ended up learning some info about barcodes, turns out they are more than just a bunch of numbers used to identify a product, they have manufacturer information linked to each barcode.

So all I have to do is find every barcode used by Sold Out Software 🤨

Turns out there is a couple of searchable barcode databases, so I took the barcode for Ceasar III (5037999003878) and it returned the manufacturer correctly, Sold Out Sales Marketing Ltd (it's original name), which means in theory I should be able to use the manufacturers name to find all the barcodes they used and the name of the product it was used on.

Using the info above and keeping an eye on random eBay / Amazon searches for games I haven't seen before should give me a pretty complete list of releases.
